The Unique History of Grandview Acres
The living quarters now known as Grandview Acres were constructed shortly after their approval from the Federal Works Agency on April 9, 1941. The U.S. Army began construction on what was then called the Ogden Army Industrial Establishment.
A total of 150 living rooms, and a single story office and storage building were built. The Units were composed of fifty-one separate building including:
- 10 four-plexes
- 7 six-plexes
- 10 single bedroom duplexes
- 24 two-bedroom duplexes.
The Formation of the Grandview Condominium Association
Years later The army no longer needed the establishment. The units were then sold as residential real estate, forming the Grandview Acres Mutual Ownership Corporation. The Mutual Ownership Corporation maintained the buildings until 2001 when The Grandview Condominium Association was formed.
